Cquin Angus Farm was founded in 1969. In 1973, the operation started on Angus Herd Improvement Records (AHIR). With the technical improvement of AHIR via expected progeny differences (EPD's), the program has prospered into one of the longstanding Angus herds on association records.

The program centers on management closely related to most commercial operations. Presently, Cquin has Angus bulls working in small, medium, and the largest commercial herds in the state of Louisiana. We manage a sustainable performance based herd in the deep south.

Cquin emphasizes balanced trait selection focusing on structure, muscle, carcass, milk, fertility, climate adaptability and forage efficiency. Growth traits are closely monitored in our program in addition to DNA technology applications.

Holistic management is practiced in our program for both cattle and forage operations. Stewardship is a must.

Our bulls are sold privately and occasionally in sales. Throughout the farm history, bulls produced in the program have been the high-selling individuals in numerous public sales. Our bulls are developed on high quality forage and are ready for market at 18-months of age with average weights around 1600 pounds. Little to no grain is used in our program.

Females are sold privately and are available throughout the year, bred cows, open and bred heifers.
